Even with its improved features, heat-treated lumber still can benefit from a certain level of protection to preserve its original appearance.

Its great durability and stability will never be affected by weathering, but its colour might be. Finishing products should be chosen to suit the type of application the wood is used for and applied according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Apply finish to all wood components (boards, hand-rails, mouldings, etc.).

Another advantage of heat-treated wood is that it can be treated before it is installed. Drying time is not required.

Use a UV-protected finishing product, both for indoor and outdoor applications, to prevent and delay greying.
